Austria: 10-day or 2-month vignette?

The shortest product is not always the cheapest. Decide by calendar days on toll roads, not by gut feel at the border.

10 days

Ideal for weekends and short trips. Watch calendar days: arrival and departure must be covered. Two separate short trips with a gap can cost more than one 2-month vignette.

2 months

Good for longer holidays, project commuting or several entries in a short period. Rough check: if you need more than one 10-day product in the same window, 2 months often wins.

Annual

For regular trips, second homes or business. Annual rules follow the ASFINAG product (start/registration) — not always a Jan–Dec calendar year.

Quick answers

Can I extend?
You usually buy a new product for a new period. Plan without gaps on travel days.
Does entry time matter?
The digital vignette uses the booked validity window (ASFINAG calendar logic), not a rolling “24 hours from entry” like some parking tickets.
